I"m definitely against it as beauty is in the eye of beholders, after all you have done to impress others, at the end you find no one appreciating and you start to think if it"s worth the risk and pain all over again.
Plus it makes everyone look the same, now when i go out i figure out right away who has been under knife. this unnatural look says it all!
And now with all kinds of makeup techniques, people are able to look the way they want, so why suffer when things can work out just like that, most importantly its more natural!
Well, personally, I think it is acceptable for people to undertake plastic surgery based on the following reasons. To begin with, when someone is having a plastic surgeries, the money will be paid to the surgeons and also to those who work in that place, like the janitors, repairmen, cashier and the receptionists. In short, it can boast the economy by creating more jobs. Additionally, some people are not happy with their appearance, and a better body and facial appearance will help build up their confidence and they certainly have the right and freedom to decide what they do with their body. I mean, it doesn"t hurt to have the plastic surgeries as long as the party involved can afford it.

I think it would be better to produce TV shows that are about comedy
on different aspects of student life, the main reason is that, it"s more casual and fun than the other two topics,we students already have a tough day from meeting deadlines and part-time job, it would be nice to watch something that"s very light-hearted, another reason is that, i"m quite sure that compared with the other two topics, students would find this more useful, as we can relate to the lives of other students.
Personally, I think producing a comedy show on different aspects of student life is most interesting. First off, most of time, students are overwhelmed with all kinds of assignments, like papers, presentations, and even group project. Putting on a comedy show about students’ life is going to be very fun. However, interviewing with student leaders and professors might not reflect most of the students’ life and they might give one-sided opinions about students’ life. Plus, debate on social and political issues can be very serious *, which are not directed related with students’ life and study.

In many major cities of the world, you will find large public buildings, both new and old.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of such buildings. How important is it for a country to construct impressive public buildings when houses are want is really required?
Model Answer:
A public building is a building that belongs in some way o the state. The number of public buildings in any town or village will depend on the size of that community and its needs. For example, you will usually find a town hall of some sort, a school and a place of worship at he least. In anger communities there will be a police station, law courts, a library and maybe a theatre funded by he state.
The desire to build impressive buildings is not new. The ancient cities of the Middle East and South America were designed with large public buildings to impress visitors and enemies and give a sense of pride. In modern times, outstanding public buildings still. create a great sense of local and national pride. They are what gives a city its character and they form asocial centre, a place where people like to meet.
However, some people argue that governments have constructed unnecessary, and sometimes ugly, buildings sim* to make themselves feel important. I tend to feel that such buildings may be a waste of public money but I am not sure we can claim that they prevent houses from being built, because these governments have often ensured that adequate housing was also available. Houses and public buildings can exist side by side.
The answer lies in finding ape right balance. We want o feel pride in our town, but we also want our citizens to have comfortable homes. It is hard to please everyone.

What food do you think the university cafeteria should add to its menu in order to attract more people? Please include examples to support your explanation.
【Sample answer】
Personally speaking, I recommend the school to add the fruit salad in its cafeteria.
First of all, this dish is very delicious. There can be a variety of fruits in the dish, such as the bananas, apples, kiwifruits, grapes and so on. These fruits are sweet or a little bit sour. When they are mixed together, adding the salad dressing or the thousand-island sauce, this dish will be welcomed.
Second of all, this dish will well satisfy the needs of many students who are losing weight. This dish is composed of fruits and fruits are rich in vitamin and are low in fat. Many dieting students, especially girls, may choose to eat it.
So that’s why I recommend the fruit salad.
Talk about your favorite book when you were a child, explain why you liked to read it in details.
【Sample answer】
When I was a child, my favorite book was definite the Happy Potter.
To begin with, this book brings me much imagination. For example, whenever I read the interesting things happened in the magic school and adventures from Harry and his friends, my imagination will be evoked and a lot of illusions will be appearing in my mind. The feeling is wonderful.
What’s more, this book greatly improves my writing skills. I am a Chinese student learning English. This book’s descriptions are vivid; by reading them I learnt how to use metaphor, parallelism, exaggeration, understatement and so on. Also the book enlarges my vocabulary. All these contribute to a better writing.
So I think Happy Potter is really a good book.
Some people prefer to buy new books while others prefer to buy used ones. Which do you prefer? Please use examples and reason to support your choice.
【Sample answer】
To be honest, I prefer to buy the used books.
First of all, buying the used ones can help save money. Now I am a college student, at the beginning of every semester, I may have to buy some textbooks I will use. If I buy the new ones, it may cost me around 100 dollars; however, if I buy the used ones from others, it only cost me around 20 dollars.
Second of all, this can help us to protect the environment. Actually the papers from the books are made of the woods. If we always buy new books, that means people will have to cut more trees, and this may result in the soil erosion, the sand storm and so on. If we buy the used one, people will cut fewer trees.
Some people prefer to listen to audio books whereas others prefer to read printed books. Which do you prefer and why? Please use examples and reasons to support your choice.
To be honest, I prefer to listen to audio books
Firstly, audio books are more convenient. For example, when I am in the crowd on my way to school, hardly will I have the room to hold a printed book, let alone reading. However, if listening to the audio ones, plugging my earphones, I won’t be disturbed by the crowd or the noises.
And also, this can help us to protect the environment. Actually the papers from the books are made of the woods. If we always buy printed books, that means people will have to cut more trees, and this may result in the soil erosion, the sand storm and so on. If we use the audio ones, people will cut fewer trees.

1.用作为ventilation,工人可以在塔里呼吸;
2.出于宗教目的,shaft的位置类似于星星,象征god;
1.Only two pairs of S rising from tomb可以bring air,其他不可以,而且其他建的S都是similar的,所以只有两个并不能用来让worker呼吸;
2.埃及人用specific star象征specific god在later time,S build 在早期并没有记录提到这种宗教象征;

Nowadays sending children to boarding school is becoming increasingly popular. What is the reason? Do you think it is a positive development?
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad/working abroad for a period of time这样的考题而误把boarding理解成abroad,导致全篇皆在谈留学热的原因和好处而跑题。
In the past, people travel aboard for the differences of other countries. Nowadays places are becoming more and more similar. What are the causes of the increasing similarity? Do you think the advantage of the development overweigh the disadvantage?
What is the advantages and disadvantages of globalization这样的考题而误把原文中的Nowadays places are becoming more and more similar等同于globalization,导致全篇皆在谈全球化的原因和利弊而跑题。
Nowadays places are becoming more and more similar。
Nowadays sending children to boarding school is becoming increasingly popular. What is the reason? Do you think it is a positive development?
Some people believe that a country can benefit a lot from the fact that many students graduate from universities. Others believe that sending a large percentage of young students to university is the way which leads to future highly rate of unemployment. Discuss both views and give your own opinion?
So in my opinion, it’s necessary for a county to send more students to the university and meet the requirement of the market for more talents .But in general I think it’s better for a country to improve the standard of entering the university. It’s also good for China to select the students in the new ways but Gaokao. This will be more essential than built several new universities。
这里姑且不讨论最后提出来的“improve the standard of entering the university”有跑题的嫌疑,光是It’s also good for China to select the students in the new ways but Gaokao。

2.答题时宁过勿缺,但如果最后差几秒又实在想不出,则可说:That’saboutit (连读) 3’ OR That’s everything I can say about this topic 5’。
4.多用习语,口语词,gonna,wanna,thatal = that will,有的词读的.

The lecturer and the reading passage hold completely different views toward the practice of salvage logging, which is the removal of dead trees from a forest after a fire or a storm.
First, the lecturer states that removing dead trees is not good for the health of a forest because it deprives it of the nutrients necessary for future tree growth, which dead trees release into the soil as they decompose. In contrast, the reading passage states that removing old trees provides more space in which new generations of fresh trees can grow more healthily.
Second, the lecturer argues that some insects and birds that inhabit dead trees are beneficial for tree growth, and a few that are thought to be harmful have shown no evidence of causing significant damage to the forest. So by eliminating both harmful and beneficial birds and insects, salvage logging may cause unwanted damage to the forest in the long run. The reading, however, mentions only harmful insects and the spruce bark beetle in particular. It points out that because clearing the forest of dead trees also destroys the habitat of these harmful insects, it ensures the healthy recovery of a forest after a fire.
Finally with regard to economic impact, the lecturer argues against salvage logging because the dead trees can only be salvaged at a very high cost, and the employment associated with salvage logging is often temporary and taken by non-native residents. On the other hand, the reading argues that this practice provides many industries with the wood necessary to sustain their production and offer employment opportunities to local people.
Every year, forest fires and severe storms cause a great deal of damage to forests in the northwestern United States. One way of dealing with the aftermath of these disasters is called salvage logging, which is the practice of removing dead trees from affected areas and using the wood for lumber, *wood, and other wood products. There are several reasons why salvage logging is beneficial both to a damaged forest and to the economy.
First, after a devastating fire, forests are choked with dead trees. If the trees are not removed, they will take years to decompose; in the meantime, no new trees can grow in the cramped spaces. Salvage logging, however, removes the remains of dead trees and makes room for fresh growth immediately, which is likely to help forest areas recover from the disaster.
Also, dead trees do more than just take up space. Decaying wood is a highly suitable habitat for insects such as the spruce bark beetle, which in large numbers can damage live, healthy spruce trees. So, by removing totting wood, salvage logging helps minimize the dangers of insect infestation, thus contributing to the health of the forest.
Third and last, salvage logging has economic benefits. Many industries depend upon the forests for their production, and because of this a fire can have a very harmful effect on the economy. Often, however, the trees that have been damaged by natural disasters still can provide much wood that is usable by industries. Furthermore, salvage logging requires more workers than traditional logging operations do, and so it helps create additional jobs for local residents.
